  • What will I learn?

    You will have the opportunity to learn how to use your voice, move on stage, devise and improvise. Explore characterisation, scripts, and plays. You will build self esteem, become a confident communicator and build a foundation in many kinds of performance.

  • What are the age ranges?

    We provide one on one tuition for children and adults wishing to work on speech, presentation and audition technique for stage and screen.

  • I am interested in booking a workshop. How are the workshops run?

    There will, wherever possible, be two tutors. One will be the lead tutor while the second is in charge of pastoral care and support. The workshops have been carefully planned with a clear objective.

  • How many people do you need for a workshop?

    We need a minimum of 8 and we have a maximum of 16 participants in each workshop.

  • How do I book a workshop?

    Contact us via the contact form and we will be in touch to discuss your needs, where you wish to hold the workshop and any other details you wish to discuss.

  • Do you run holiday workshops?

    We only run holiday workshops on request from an organization.

  • What other areas do you cover besides acting for stage and screen?

  • Do you tutor for Trinity exams?

    Yes we do. We would need to discuss your requirements first. For example, past experience and your expectations and why you wish to sit a Trinity exam.

  • Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?

    No you do not. It really depends on what you want to achieve. We are happy to discuss your needs at the first session.

  • How do we sign up and pay for for a session?

    Click HERE for the contact form and we will be in touch very shortly. Payment details are given once we have been in contact. Direct banking is preferred but cheque or cash is also fine.

  • Do you refund for sessions missed?

    If you have paid for a number of sessions in advance and cancel one without letting us know the day before, we are not able to refund you. If for any reason a session is cancelled by Blakbox Drama, a refund will be made.

  • Do you offer discounts for pairs or siblings?

    Yes, if they are having a session at the same time. The length of the session will increase when there are two. A price can be discussed if more than 2 people wish to attend a session or workshop.

  • Do you offer any other discounts?

    Yes we do. If you book and pay for 8 sessions in advance, you will be given a 10% discount.

  • How long is a session?

    For children under 12, we recommend a 30 minute session.

    For two children under 12, 40 minutes.

    Children aged 12 up to adult can choose from 40 minutes to one hour.

  • What do I wear?

    Comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily and comfortable footwear. No slip-ons, high heels or jandals. Sneakers are ideal.

  • How much does it cost?

    Costs for all types of tuition excluding film:
    individuals/pair per session:
    30 minutes - $30
    40 minutes - $40 - Pair $55.00
    60 minutes - $60 - Pair $75.00
    Groups - Price on application
    If you require the tutor to travel, the time will be added to the session fee.
    Film is the same as above plus any editing for a show reel.
